The Social Office of the City of Luxembourg is a public institution that carries out its missions under the law of 18 December 2009 on social assistance and the law of 28 July 2018 on the social inclusion income (REVIS).
Main missions

Provide advice on social, budgetary, and administrative matters

Inform about available aid and support services

Refer individuals to specialised services

Offer personalised social support in the short, medium, and long term

Facilitate access to social and financial benefits: CNS, REVIS, cost-of-living allowance, rent subsidy, social third-party payer system, etc.

Assist with access to material aid: social grocery store, language courses, etc.

Social assistance
Anyone legally residing within the territory of the City of Luxembourg may be eligible for social assistance.
Objectives

Enable people to gain or maintain autonomy and live in dignity

Provide individuals in difficulty with access to goods and services suited to their specific situation
The Social Office intervenes only as a last resort, when all other resources have been exhausted.
Social assistance is provided by the financial department and the social support and follow-up department.
The REVIS
The Social Office of the City of Luxembourg, through the regional social inclusion officers (ARIS), is responsible for the follow-up of residents of City of Luxembourg who receive the social inclusion income (REVIS). The REVIS aims to support these individuals while promoting their social and professional reintegration.
